The Baahubali films are a series of two Indian epic action-drama films written and directed by S.S. Rajamouli. The films stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles with Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj in supporting roles. The first film was released on 10 July 2015 while the second film was released on 28 April 2017.
The story is set in the fictional kingdom of Mahishmati and follows the story of two cousins who fight for control over the throne.
Prabhas plays Baahubali, a rebellious warrior who challenges his uncle's claim to the throne and eventually becomes Mahishmati's king; Rana Daggubati portrays Bhallaladeva, Baahubali's cousin and archenemy; Anushka Shetty plays Devasena, an imprisoned princess whom Baahubali falls in love with; Tamannaah Bhatia plays Avanthika, a rebel leader who helps Baahubali overthrow Bhallaladeva; Ramya Krishnan portrays Sivagami Devi (Queen Mother), Regent of Mahishmati Kingdom & mother of both princes; Sathyarajplays Kattappaa loyal servant cum friend to Bahubaali family
